Established in Italy in 2010 by Shifu Fabio Zambelli , Heart of The Orient was brought to Australia in 2012 as the first Shaolin Martial Arts School in Newcastle (NSW). Heart of The Orient is also the headquarters of the Shunlian Shenghuo Kung fu Academy.

With more than 26 years of experience and complete dedication to Martial Arts, our Academy’s mission is found not just in its martial practice, but in its hand-crafted Dojo as well: a pure oriental-style place deep in the Heart of the Hunter Valley, the first in the world being fully designed, built and run by just one person.
Two words, a Lifetime to embrace them
Shunlian Shenghuo means “Training for Life” because our Academy aims at giving you a method to become your own master and use this gained strength to conquer your fears and pursue your goals. Our Academy’s goal is to inspire all Students to follow our credo: Motivation, Perseverance and Tenacity in what you really believe (from Latin: Voluntas, Assiduitas et Perseverantia in quo pro certo credis).
Academy course of Study
Students can learn any class with no limitation. However, we strongly suggest to follow a gradual program where you can start from the easiest skill to the most complex Shaolin Kung fu technique. Furthermore, this is the only way the Academy will recognize your achievements.The Academy full program consists in 3+2 years of study. If you are a professional Athlete, Heart of The Orient can also assist you in preparing for specific competitions.
